Upon learning of her beloved's death, the princess chose to end her own life as well. Their blood flowed like a river, their bodies transformed into hills, and the princess's pregnant belly became the Sleeping Beauty Cave.
In this backdrop of myth and legend, the local people began to worship this Sleeping Beauty princess, regarding her as the guardian deity of this place.

At the same time, local residents held soul-calling rituals at the cave entrance, a custom in northern Thailand.
Local belief holds that a person has 32 souls, and during unfavorable events, these souls can scatter. Thus, soul-calling rituals are performed to call these scattered souls back and restore a person's wholeness.

Some even dreamt that the thirteen people trapped in the cave were the reincarnations of the thirteen pursuers sent to capture the princess and the stable boy over 300 years ago.
