We have to announce that we will be removing all AI tools powered by OpenAI’s paid API. OpenAI’s new policy, which forcibly expires all prepaid API credits after one year, caught us by surprise. We received no prior email notifications, and this policy change was implemented months after our initial payment. The lack of transparency and user-unfriendly treatment toward paying customers is deeply disappointing. Approximately 10 of our online tools – including language translators, text-to-speech converters, code interpreters, and others – are now impacted. This situation is utterly frustrating.
Such an abrupt and rigid policy update has made us hesitant to develop any new tools based on OpenAI’s API models. This serves as a hard lesson learned. Moving forward, we will strive to minimize reliance on external platforms in all future tool development.
